WAD Capital Hackathon — Building PE Deal Tools

On Saturday the 13th, WAD Capital and Herspective opened the office to early-career professionals from finance and technology for a full day of building.

The brief was straightforward: design the tools that PE investment teams actually use, from the inside out. Participants worked in teams across the morning, tackling real problems in the deal workflow. The event ran in Brussels and online, with people joining virtually from across Europe.

By the end of the day, dozens of projects were presented to a panel of judges. Not just the winning team will get the opportunity to present their work directly to WAD Capital. Strong performances across the board are being considered for internships.

The format was deliberate. PE deal infrastructure gets redesigned most effectively by people who will work inside it, not around it. The room reflected that: expertise in private equity, operations, AI, entrepreneurship, and legal tech, all pointed at the same problems.
